It's really nice not to have to download anymore players like Quick Time or DivX. Thanks for taking the time to make this codec package. That should help, and allow you to uninstall it. Simply click on start, click on the icon above your username, and uncheck the administrator box. I noticed someone was having trouble uninstalling 4.4.9. I can play AVIs, and I don't need the Quick Time player or DivX either.

I can play any type of file now on any of the players (except FLV of course). I have four players in all: WMP, Real Player, VLC player and FLV player. That's when I decided to download the Vista codec pack, and it worked. I also had the VLC player, but it wasn't playing DVDS. I found a d**n good DVD decoder by Roxio, and it solved the problem where I could play DVDs again in WMP.
